About Me

My name is Jonathan Leneschmidt, and I am a senior at the University of South Carolina, on track to graduate in August 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Entertainment Management, while also pursuing Graduation with Leadership Distinction in the Professional and Civic Engagement Pathway. During my time at USC, I have embraced a variety of academic, professional, and personal challenges that have shaped my development and prepared me for a successful career in the sports industry. My passion for sports began at the age of four when I started playing soccer, and that passion has continued to drive me both on and off the field. I played collegiate soccer at Columbia International University during my first two years of college, where I was honored twice as an AAC All-Academic and Champions of Character nominee. Transferring to USC allowed me to further pursue my career goals while continuing to build strong relationships and develop the skills necessary to make a meaningful impact in the sport and entertainment field.

From managing equipment for South Carolina Football to interning with FC Cincinnati's Soccer in the Community department, I’ve gained valuable insight into both the operational and fan-facing sides of the industry. I've coached youth camps, supported game-day operations, and helped deliver meaningful community outreach initiatives—all of which have strengthened my communication, adaptability, and leadership skills. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the role sports play in connecting people, building communities, and creating positive change.

After graduation, I plan to pursue a career in community relations or group sales within the collegiate or professional sports space. Long-term, I aim to grow into leadership positions that allow me to support my family, give back to the community, and shape the future of sport and entertainment.
